DEA CODE 2772: Schedule 4

Ketazolam is a long-acting benzodiazepine with general properties similar to those of diazepam. It is given in the short term treatment of anxiety in usual oral doses of 15 to 60 mg daily, either in divided doses or as a single dose at night. Reduced doses may be required in elderly or debilitated patients.

Ketazolam is only found in individuals that have used or taken this drug. It is a drug which is a benzodiazepine derivative. It possesses anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant properties. Ketazolam is not approved for sale in the United States or Canada. Benzodiazepines share a similar chemical structure and their effects in humans are mainly produced by the allosteric modification of a specific kind of neurotransmitter receptor, the GABAA receptor, which increases the conductance of this inhibitory channel; this results in the various therapeutic effects as well as adverse effects of benzodiazepines.

I just wanted to come back and let you know ketazolam is a nice benzo. People whom enjoy valium probably will enjoy this. I have not experimented with high dosages, just around 3 tablets (30mg each) at a time, which gave a nice relaxing sedation somewhat similar to a good diazepam intoxication. However for SWIM to reach same level of effect with diazepam a monster dose would be needed (50-70mg or so) as he has a big tolerance. Due to the tolerance issue, the effect may be different for others, and always start low on any drug. I have it prescribed and is supposed to take it 3 times a day but decided taking all 3 doses at once to see what effects it brough. Perhaps he will experiment with larger dosages later.

Ketazolam also appears to produce a reduced level of side effects such as sedation compared with diazepam and the side effects when they occur tend to be milder. Ketazolam is also an effective antispasmodic drug and is used for the treatment of spasticity. Tolerance to ketazolam's therapeutic effects occurs over a period of 15 days. Benzodiazepines require special precaution if used in the elderly, during pregnancy, in children, alcohol or drug-dependent individuals and individuals with comorbid psychiatric disorders. Ketazolam breaks down in the blood to diazepam which breaks down to demoxepam which breaks down to desmethyldiazepam
